Our why

Why “Read local, feel seen.”

Most of what we grew up reading was written somewhere else. They were good books, but they were not about our streets, our families, our humor, or our words.

We believe there’s a book for everyone. The problem was never Filipino readers. It was access. Filipino stories sat in storage houses and hard drives, waiting for the infrastructure to exist. So we built it: a place where readers find books written for them, and authors get paid for every read.

Read local, and you’ll find yourself on the page. That’s what feeling seen means.
