REKO was born from a simple truth: Filipino stories deserve to be read.
We saw talented Filipino authors struggling to get their work out there. Printing costs are high, marketing resources limited, and secure digital distribution nearly impossible. Meanwhile, through our experience running the BookSpine Kilo Corner warehouse, we kept hearing the same question: “Where can I find Filipino-authored books?”
The digital revolution that transformed global publishing had somehow bypassed local literature. So we built REKO—a bridge connecting Filipino readers directly to Filipino authors. Our platform isn’t just about selling eBooks; it’s about creating an ecosystem where Filipino literature can thrive in the digital age.
Today, we’re in public beta, but you can already buy and access eBooks directly on your device or send them to your Kindle. This is just the beginning of our journey to transform how Filipino readers and authors connect.

BookSpine started as a circular economy platform, making books more accessible by ensuring that every book finds the right reader, wherever they are in the Philippines. While we made significant progress in this space, data and insights led us to uncover a deeper problem—Filipino authors struggle to get their work into the hands of the right readers. The challenge isn’t just affordability or discovery; it’s the lack of visibility, distribution channels, and support for local authors to thrive. Many talented writers face limited reach, unsustainable earnings, and an industry that doesn’t provide enough opportunities for them to succeed.
This led to Reko, a Spotify-like platform for books that bridges the gap between Filipino authors and readers through digital distribution and AI-powered recommendations. Reko is more than just a platform—it’s a tech-driven ecosystem that provides 360° business services for authors, ensuring their books reach the right Filipino audience. We aim to uplift local literature, improve reading comprehension, and help authors build sustainable careers in their passion.
